The morning news on June 6, 2023, struck every Ukrainian to the heart. The destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant is a terrible catastrophe for both the country’s citizens and the ecosystem of the entire region. After all, every flooded house or animal burrow has its own life story that cannot be returned.
Our company does not stand aside from this tragedy. Within hours of the news, a large part of the Aurora team was working to organise support for the people affected. That is why we can share the results only after a few days, as we were completely immersed in the organisational aspects of the aid.
So far, we have succeeded:
● To purchase generators and neoprene gloves to protect hands underwater for the State Emergency Service for a total of UAH 1.5 million.
● To set up the process of transferring hygiene kits upon requests from NGOs. We have already delivered kits to the Rescue Now Charity Fund.
● We have provided drinking water to the company’s employees and their families in the affected region by sending more than 2,000 litres of water. At the request of the Kharkiv City Council, we have also provided water for the evacuated residents of Kherson region.
● Prices for some essential goods have been reduced by up to 30% in nearby stores in Kherson region: fast food, pet food, batteries, hygiene products, etc.
We have managed to do a lot in a few days, but this is not the limit. We keep working to support Ukrainians. We are looking for new ways to help. We thank all our partners for their openness to cooperation.
United Ukrainians are a great force that can overcome any obstacles. So let’s unite. Let’s hold on. Victory will be ours!
